…that made me wish I’d thought to bring my camera
- The “Happy Child Trading Company.” I’m not sure if your children have to be happy, in which case why trade them, or if the new children you get would be happy. Or if the company is happy. Either way, I don’t think I’d want to risk any new children. Now if you could get a pony out of it…
- Smurf-flavoured ice-cream. It’s bright blue. Donn says in spite of the colour it tastes surprisingly like chicken, but he’s just trying to gross you out.
- A billboard with a picture of a young woman on a cell phone, smiling brightly. Above her in big letters it says “PHONEY!” Guess that’s truth in advertising.

I might be willing to trade for a happy child if I had a recalcitrant one to offer in exchange. Maybe if I were an actual parent I wouldn’t be so willing.

People have gotten a kick out of our photo series. Example: the photo of a men’s store called “Jet Set Homme” showing a mannequin wearing a white traditional boubou (yeah, he’s in the jet-set all right!). And the photos of the three fast-food places “Pizza Hot,” “Chicken Hot” and “? Hot.” (Don’t think I want to find out what the mystery meat is!)

I think that Smurf ice cream should taste fruity and tart, like a sweet tart. As for the Happy Child Trading Company, from my own whipped mom experience, I suspect its parents happy to trade in their children for a little peace…

Oh. My. Lands. Those are hilarious! Yes, next time bring your camera!
Was the cell phone an i phone? If so, it could have said, “I Phoney!” That might even be closer to the truth…

I’ve lived on a horse farm before. I would SO not want a pony. Are you aware of how much shoveling pony ownership involves?
