I can’t seem to get better, and now I’m running a fever.
Not to worry though. Ilsa made me a card. It is very cute, decorated with stickers and fancy calligraphy. It says:
“Get well soon! Please make nachos for supper. Thank you!”
If that doesn’t make me feel better, I guess nothing will. At least she’s polite, so I know I’m succeeding on one level.

You poor thing, summer flues (flus?) are miserable. Try having one of the kids brew you up a batch of cold remedy tea:
Steep the following in boiling water for a few minutes. Repeat often:
Juice of half a lemon
1 peeled clove of garlic
1 Tbl of honey
“as much cayenne pepper as you can stand”
It will give your immune system a big boost and has a taste powerful enough to tickle those flu-dulled tastebuds. Really, it’s surprisingly not bad tasting. Pretty good actually once you get used to it.
Feel better soon!

Poor you. I think if you add guacamole to the dinner, it might help. Say, that sounds like a fabulous dinner suggestion. Thanks for the dinner help!

Wacky Mommy
heh heh heh heh.
Hockey God: You’re gonna kill your mama. Or make her go crazy.
Wacky Girl: I wanna see her go crazy!
me: No, you don’t.
Tell her to microwave the beans first for three minutes — add a little water to make them easier to spread over the chips. Layer chips in a big baking pan. Spoon beans over. Drain a can of sliced olives, spread on top of chips and beans. Grate cheddar or monterey jack cheese on top, bake at 375 degrees ’til bubbly.
Sour cream, chopped green onions, salsa, Big Dan’s Bento Sauce, avocados or guac on side. Done!
