On Christmas morning, it snowed. We had the most snow a Portland Christmas has seen for 70 years.
We couldn’t believe our eyes when we first saw the snow. The kids had prayed for snow, but I had very little faith. We gathered by the windows to watch it.
It snowed and snowed.
And, best of all, it actually stuck. Ilsa made 2 tiny snowmen; the boys had snowball throwing competitions.
By this point, they already thrown all the snow off the balcony, so you really can’t see how pretty it was.
So, who can guess what I got for Christmas?
Best of all, it actually works, focuses, can be downloaded onto my computer, and has a dearth of sand in its sensitive parts.

I thought of your kids when it snowed on Christmas Day. The four kids we were with were crazy with delight. I was so hopeful that we’d get more today and a significant amount, but alas.

I grew up in Eugene, and I remember the one winter when it snowed. It was magical! How fun for you guys, and for all Portlanders, to have snow this Christmas!

Hello,
I love your blog! Thanks for sharing your enlightening, entertaining
story(ies) with all of us. What I appreciate most about “Planet nomad” is its role in promoting cross-cultural understanding and global awareness(whether directly intended, or incidental).
I work for the My Wonderful World Campaign, a National Geographic-led initiative to promote global awareness and learning
(To learn more about the campaign, please visit us at http://mywonderfulworld.org .)
Among my duties, I write a blog (http://mywonderfulworld.typepad.com.)
I have only recently discovered your blog, and find its content very appropriate for my audience. Therefore, I have added a link to “Planet Nomad” on my blogroll.
I would very much appreciate it if you would consider adding the My Wonderful World blog to your own blogroll. We are trying to grow the constituency of globally-minded, geographically-concerned individuals across the U.S., and I think the cause is one in which your audience is likely to be interested. We would certainly love to have them on board with our efforts.
Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Congratulations on the camera! I am as excited as you so we can be blessed by your pictures. At first I thought you were saying you got that pile of Legos for Christmas and I thought “Cool!”
Wasn’t the snow great? Ours quickly turned to rain and wasn’t playable at all but it was magical to see snowflakes on Christmas morning. I’m so glad that the kids had fun in it.
